Despite being a massive blow to the Indian cricket team for the upcoming WTC final, the team most affected by Shreyas’ unavailability seems to be his IPL franchise, KKR. The men in purple have appointed an inexperienced Nitish Rana as the skipper for the season and they have not gotten off to a great start. In his first match as skipper Rana’s team suffered seven-run loss to Punjab Kings (PBKS). KKR currently sit in 7th place on the table with a -0.438 run rate. They will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their second match on April 6 at the Eden Gardens.

Sai Sudharsan powers Gujarat Titans to comfortable win over Delhi Capitals

The 21-year-old came in as an impact player for the injured Kane Williamson in the season opener against CSK and has cemented his place in the team now. The left-hand batter has had a couple of fantastic seasons, he played some crucial contributions to the success of Gujarat Titans in the 2022 season, where they emerged as champions.
