Following his match-winning effort against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday, December 25, veteran India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin responded appropriately on social media. Ashwin was instrumental in pulling India back from the brink of defeat, scoring 42* runs off 62 balls to lead the side to a three-wicket victory over the hosts. Ashwin was named Player of the Match for his vital innings and six wickets in the game. Following the match, however, Nibraz Ramzan (a Sri Lankan journalist for DailyCricketSL, according to his Twitter account) took a shot at Ashwin, stating that Ashwin should have given the award to Mominul Haque for losing an easy catch.

“You should have handed this ???? to Mominul Haque, Who dropped that dolly.. had he bagged it, India all out for 89 for sure.. @Ashwinravi99,” posted Nibraz. The seasoned offie did not hold back and responded to Nibraz with a fairly amusing remark, stating that the latter would have nothing to do if India stopped playing cricket matches. “Oh no! I thought I blocked you, oh sorry that’s the other guy. what’s his name?? Yes, Daniel Alexander, that’s the name!! Imagine what you both would do if India dint plays cricket,” responded Ashwin on Twitter.
