Pakistan defeated the West Indies by 120 runs in the second of three-match ODI series at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan on Friday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead. Pakistan top-order batters Imam-ul-Haq (72) and Babar Azam (77) notched up brilliant half-centuries to guide their side to 275/8 in the stipulated 50 overs with West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein scalping three wickets. 

The visitors were bundled out for 155 runs in the chase with left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz picking up for wickets. Kyle Mayers (33) and Shamarh Brooks (42) showed some resilience for the West Indies but failed to convert their starts.

Pakistan vs West Indies: Babar Azam act penalizes Pakistan

Azam who has been in red-hot form for Pakistan and became the first batter-ever to score nine consecutive 50+ runs in the match also came under scrutiny for his ‘illegal fielding’ approach. During the second ODI, Babar was spotted wearing a wicket-keeping glove while handling the ball. As per the law 28.1 Protective Equipment, “No fielder other than the wicket-keeper shall be permitted to wear gloves or external leg guards. In addition, protection for the hand or fingers may be worn only with the consent of the umpires.”

The incident took place in the 29th over of the West Indies innings. The video went viral on social media, in which the Pakistan captain, could be seen collecting  the ball from behind the stumps while wearing wicket-keeping gloves on his right arm. Pakistan lost five runs for the act. Watch the incident unfold in the video below:
