As they begin their preparation for the 50-over World Cup in India with a spate of 50-over assignments in the sub-continent, New Zealand, the top-ranked ODI squad, will seek to get things going quickly. White-ball games against India will be played after a three-match ODI series against Pakistan, giving New Zealand enough time to adjust to the conditions they would see most frequently during the World Cup later this year.

In September–October 2019, Pakistan’s matches against Sri Lanka were the final ODI matches to be held in Karachi. In one of the games, Pakistan chased down a target of 298 while defending 305. Recently, the Pakistan Cup, a domestic List A competition, saw multiple 300-plus totals achieved, with 350 being crossed four times and the highest being 387. In the forthcoming series, batters may anticipate favourable conditions as well. Before the match gets underway let’s take a look at the key matchups.
