Pakistan (PAK) and New Zealand (NZ) will play the first of three one-day internationals (ODIs) on January 9 (Monday) at Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena. The first ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will begin at 3:00 PM IST. During their final ODI series against the Netherlands in 2022, Pakistan won the series 3-0. New Zealand, on the other side, has done exceptionally well in the 50-overs phase of the game recently, defeating India 1-0 in their most recent home ODI series and remaining undefeated against Ireland and the Netherlands.

With the exception of a loss to Australia, New Zealand has not lost an ODI series since January 2021, winning as many as six. However, none of these victories has occurred in Asia, with New Zealand last visiting the continent for an ODI series in 2018, drawing the 50-over series 1-1 against Pakistan in the UAE. This will be their first one-day international series in Pakistan since December 2003.
