Nottinghamshire vs Yorkshire, North Group, T20 Blast, 2023: head-to-head and other key stats

Nottinghamshire Outlaws will lock horns with Yorkshire Vikings in a North Group fixture at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. After two wins and a loss in three matches, Nottinghamshire are placed in fifth position while the Vikings are languishing at the bottom of the table after losing all three matches they have played. Nottinghamshire started the season in a brilliant way by beating Derbyshire by four wickets but had to suffer a 22-run loss against Lancashire in their next game. However, they came back strongly in the third game and defeated Durham by five wickets. After choosing to bowl first, Nottinghamshire restricted Durham to 168/6 with the skipper Steven Mullaney scalping three wickets. And it was Alex Hales’ show in the run chase as the swashbuckling opener garnered an unbeaten 65 runs, taking the team home with four balls remaining.  

On the flip side, Yorkshire have had a season to forget so far. They need something special to turn things around and it has to come pretty quickly before things go out of control. Yorkshire too faced Durham in the previous encounter but the result was on the other side. Despite having a good squad, the side has failed to deliver and it has become a big concern for the team management, they are also missing some of their crucial players, as they are on international duties preparing for the Ashes. The team management would want some of their senior players to stand up and deliver in the important fixtures against an inform Nottinghamshire side of the T20 Blast.

The pitch at the Trent Bridge in Nottinghamshire is a balanced one, it has enough in it for both the batters and bowlers. The Spinners tend to enjoy the condition in the day game on this surface.
