These two nations will contest their 100th head-to-head ODI in this series
Sri Lanka are looking to bounce back after suffering defeat to New Zealand in the longest format, New Zealand will locks horns with Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI of the 3 match series at the Eden Park in Auckland on the 25th of March 2023. The Lankan side are ranked at No.8 in the ICC standings and will look to better that in this series. These two nations will contest their 100th head-to-head ODI in this series. Sri Lanka will be led by Dasun Shanaka and most of their players are available for this series, hence expect Sri Lanka to come out with full strength team in the 1st One Day International.
New Zealand have not faced Sri Lanka since 2019 and they come into this campaign ranked No.3 on the ICC Rankings. The Kiwis suffered a series defeat by India in January, but have only lost two series out of eight in the 50-over format of the game. They will give New Zealand the opportunity to test their youngsters like Chad Bowes, Will Young , Ravhin Ravindra and Blair Tickner in this series. Tom Latham will lead the side and also keep in the game. Matt Henry is likely to lead a fairly young bowling attack tomorrow.

This series will not be telecasted live on TV but will be live-streamed on Prime Video app and website. The toss will take place at 6:00 AM IST, the match will start at 6:30 AM IST and 02:00 PM Local Time on Saturday, the 25th of March.
