New Zealand will lock horns with Sri Lanka in the third ODI of the three-match series in Siddon Park, Hamilton on Thursday, 29th of March. New Zealand are currently leading the series 1-0, in the first game we saw New Zealand hammering Sri Lanka, who were bundled out for just 76, this became their lowest-ever ODI total against New Zealand. The 2nd match ended up in no result as the game was washed away by rain and not even a ball was bowled in the match. The Lankan pace attack has been decent and has used the New Zealand conditions to their favour, it’s Lanka’s batting which needs to step up. The likes of Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka got out in single-digit scores, while Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka got out on ducks.

On the other hand, New Zealand were fantastic with both bat and ball in the first game, it was an all-round performance by the back caps, with all of their youngsters making valuable contributions. Finn Allen smashed an outstanding fifty, while Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra came up with crucial contributions which put the Black Caps in a formidable position. Henry Shipley led the bowling unit, he tore through the Lankan batting lineup with a magnificent five-wicket haul. Sri Lanka needs to put their best foot forward to win against this strong New Zealand side. This will be the 3rd and final ODI of the series and it promises to be very entertaining as a lot is at stake for Sri Lanka, New Zealand will also like to take an unassailable lead in the series by winning this encounter.
