On 18 November, Friday, New Zealand will go up against India in the 1st match of the three-match T20I series at the Sky Stadium in Wellington. Hardik Pandya will lead the Indian team and Kane Williamson will be seen captaining the New Zealand side. Some of the senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul will not feature in this series. Rishabh Pant will be the vice-captain of the Indian team. The Men in Blue have sent a completely different squad with a nice mixture of youngsters and experienced players to this T20I series, they have recalled Shreyas Iyer back in the T20I setup. Shubman Gill has also got an opportunity to prove himself and will be the player to watch out for in this series.

New Zealand will fancy their chances in this series as they are playing in home condition. New Zealand are coming into this game on the back of a loss to Pakistan in the Semi-Finals of the T20 World Cup and would look to bounce and make a strong statement in this series. The batting is still not fully settled but the bowling department looks strong for New Zealand. Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Blair Tickner, and Mitchell Santner are the bowlers picked in this squad. Devon Conway and Finn Allen will open the batting with Kane coming in at no. 3. Trent Boult will not be a part of this series. There is a bit of rain expected during the game, hope it stays away and we have a full game tomorrow.

The pitch is expected to provide support to both the batters and bowlers. The pace bowlers will get a lot of lateral movement of the new ball. The spinners tend to struggle at this venue. The batters need to get their eye in before going for the attacking shots. The team winning the toss will look to bowl first and chase down the target under lights, in the second innings.
