After a 7-wicket setback in the first ODI in Auckland, Team India will look to rebound when they face New Zealand in the second ODI on November 27, Sunday. Needless to say, the Men in Blue must win this game or risk falling behind 0-2 in the three-match series. After being given the opportunity to bat first, Indian batsmen scored 306 runs. Among the half-centurions were Shreyas Iyer (80), Shikhar Dhawan (72), and Shubman Gill (50). Southee and Lockie Ferguson each took three wickets.
Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh made their debuts in the first ODI, but the bowlers were unable to pick wickets at regular intervals after India posted a below-par total with the bat. Dhawan will be looking for a better performance from his bowlers in a game that the Men in Blue would prefer to win in order to make the final ODI the series decider. Dhawan and Gill would hope to give India a quickfire start.
