The first One-Day International (ODI) between India (IND) and New Zealand (NZ) will be played at Eden Park on Friday, November 25. After a sporadic T20I series, India and New Zealand will now square off in ODIs. The hosts have lost three of their last five One-Day Internationals. They do, however, have a good roster, with notable players such as Finn Allen and Matt Henry. Although the Kiwis will start as favourites, India has a respectable lineup led by Shikhar Dhawan. Despite missing their best players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the Indians defeated South Africa in their previous ODI series and would be optimistic about their chances against New Zealand.
New Zealand has also received a boost with the return of skipper Kane Williamson after missing the third T20I at Napier due to “pre-arranged medical reasons.” His steady presence on the pitch will benefit the Kiwis. He personally would hope to get amongst the runs. This series is important from NZ’s perspective as it is part of the World Super League and there are 30 points up for grabs. NZ would hope to get as many points as possible and enhance their chance to qualify for next year’s WC in India.
India’s Tour of New Zealand will be telecasted live on DD Sports. All the games will be streamed live on the Amazon Prime App.
