England is on a tour to New Zealand for a two-match Test series. The first game between the teams will be played on Wednesday, 15th of February in Mount Maunganui and the second game is scheduled to take place on the 24th of February in Wellington. This promises to be a mount-watering series as both teams are playing with full strength. Ben Stokes will be leading the England side and Tim Southee will lead the home side. Here are some of the players to watch out for in the upcoming series.

James Anderson

James Anderson will be extremely difficult to face on New Zealand pitches, if the overhead conditions favour him he can rip apart any batting lineup. Anderson in the past has enjoyed bowling at Mount Maunganui and Wellington, it will be no different this time around as well. Anderson has the ability to moves the ball both ways and can stick to a particular length drawing the batters into a false shot. Anderson has been one of the best fast bowlers ever the game has seen, he would want to add as many wickets as possible, as he is heading towards the later half of his career. Anderson will definitely be a threat to New Zealand batters.

Joe Root

England’s former captain looked in great touch as he played a handful of matches in the UAE, in the ILT20 League before joining up with the England squad for the test series. Joe Root is one of the most consistent batters in England and he holds a great record in New Zealand conditions. His ability to play swing well makes him a valuable player in the swinging and seaming conditions of New Zealand. Joe Root can adapt to conditions really well and if the going gets tough, we have seen Root stand up and anchor the team to safety. New Zealand bowling will definitely have plans against the right-hand batter and it will be exciting to witness for the fans.

Tim Southee

Tim Southee will be leading New Zealand side in this test series, he has been New Zealand’s best ever and is very consistent at home. He thrives in home conditions and has a magnificent record not only against England but all the teams in the world. No fast bowler has got more wickets than him in New Zealand conditions. England batters will have to negate the big threat of Southee if they want to do well in the series. Southee has also led the side well in the recent past and will be looking to start this series on a positive note as well.

Devon Conway

Devon Conway has become one of New Zealand’s most trusted batter, he has piled up runs in all formats. Conway has a huge appetite for runs and has turned into a brilliant player for New Zealand right from the time he made his debut. Conway has the ability to play long innings and get his team off to good starts. The left-hand batter has done well away from home, but this series will be a true test of his character and a challenge that he will relish. England will need to get Conway out early coz he has a reputation for getting the big hundreds once he gets settled and past the 30-run mark. His conversation rate has been phenomenal and he would love to contribute in this series against the tough England side.
