Plan of action for New Zealand Cricket players

A New Zealand Cricket Press release stated, “The team is adhering to strict health protocols. This includes pre-departure vaccinations and covid tests, along with receiving medical bags equipped with masks and hand sanitizer. While in England they will operate in a ‘controlled team environment’ to limit outside contact and risk of transmission. All tour members will complete a daily self-reported health screening as well as undergoing regular covid testing.”

The press release further stated that the first three days will be spent in hotel room isolation. After that, mini-training groups of six can be established from days 4-6. This will all be pending negative coronavirus results.

Will Young, who is in the squad, is playing for Durham in the County Circuit. He will link up with the squad on Monday. A three-day team intra-squad game is scheduled from May 26 to May 28 at the Ageas Bowl. Six local bowlers who have isolated in advance will help make up the sides. Trent Boult will finish his managed isolation on Sunday. The left-arm pacer will return to Mount Maunganui to see his family before leaving for the UK. Boult is likely to miss the first Test in Lord’s.
