We are all set for another T20 Blast battle as Glamorgan takes on Middlesex in the 28th game of the season. The match will be played at Merchant Taylors’ School Ground, Northwood and it is an important game for Middlesex as they have lost all three of their games so far. Glamorgan have won one and lost one and will look to get to winning ways as we enter the business end of the tournament. Glamorgan started the season with a close win over Gloucestershire comprehensively beaten by Somerset. Colin Ingram is a key batter for them with his experience and played a crucial role with his 47 in the first game. Kiran Carlson is also looking in great touch at number 3 and would be looking to convert his start into a big score in this game. However, they need players like Sam Northeast to join the party soon which will provide more cushion to their bowling.

Middlesex, on the other hand, have been disappointing right from the start of the season. They came back well in the last game but ended up losing in the close encounter. Middlesex‘s need their batting and bowling unit to fire together, as they have blown hot and cold so far in the season. Batters like Pieter Malan who is a South African batter has done exceedingly well so far in the T20 Blast, Stevie Eskinazi and Cracknell all have got runs but they have not fired together. Luke Hollman is a key player for them with his all-round skills and if the likes of Tom Helm, Blake Cullen will need to deliver in this contest. It’s an interest match and with two important points up for grabs, both team will come out all guns blazing.

Pitch

It will be the first time a T20 Blast match will be played at this venue. The pitch at the Merchant Taylors’ School Ground, Northwood is a tricky one, there have been occasion where high scores have been registered also been some very low score seen at this venue. The ball doesn’t comes nicely onto the bat and the batters need to get their eye in before going for the attacking strokes. The bowlers will have to be on their toes while bowling on this surface with very short boundaries on either side. The team winning the toss will look to bat first and set a total as the pitch seems to slow down slightly in the 2nd innings.
