As we head into the conclusion of the IPL 2023 season, some enthralling contests are waiting to unfold. Just a day after Qualifier 1, Lucknow Super Giants square off against Mumbai Indians at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. It’s the Eliminator which means, the one who loses gets eliminated and the winner will head to Gujarat to play against the Gujarat Titans. With both teams well-balanced, this match has all the makings of going down to the wire. Expect a close finish and a lot of drama to unfold at the Chidambaram Stadium. Let’s have a look at some of the key battle in the all-important Eliminator.

Ravi Bishnoi vs Suryakumar Yadav:

Bishnoi will perhaps be his toughest test yet this season for Surya Kumar Yadav. He a strike rate of just 127 at Chepauk, and considering how spin-friendly the MA Chidambaram Stadium can be. Bishnoi has been very impressive this season against the right-handed batter and he will enjoy bowling in spin-friendly condition of Chepauk. It will be interesting to see who wins this battle in the Eliminator at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Rohit Sharma vs Krunal Pandya:

Rohit Sharma come back to form against SRH, scoring 56 off 37 balls. But it would be challenging for Rohit to maintain the rhythm as consistency is something that has been missing for him this season. He will come up against his old teammate, Krunal Pandya who will be leading the LSG side and will have plan against the Mumbai Skipper. Krunal has been decent with the ball this season, picking up 9 wickets in 11 innings. Krunal has had the better of Rohit in the 2021 season and will be interesting to see who wins this mouth-watering battle.

Marcus Stoinis vs Akash Madhwal:

Marcus Stoinis is the top run-scorer for LSG this season with 368 runs which an excellent strike rate, Stoinis has replicated the sort of form that made him one of the key members of the Delhi Capitals side that reached the IPL final in 2020. His best performance with the bat this season came against MI where he scored an unbeaten 89 off just 46 balls, this time he will be going up against Akash Madhwal who is is excellent form. Madhwa’s death bowling has been very impressive.
