The 10 IPL franchises have been asked to submit their list of retained players by November 15, the franchises can bid for players in the upcoming auction with the balance amount left after what they spent during the last mega auction and also with the amount they get after releasing the players they want to give back to the auction pool. Here are the top 3 players that Rajasthan Royals could retain before the mini-auction that is scheduled to be held in the month of December.

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson has been a prolific run scorer for Rajasthan Royals over the years, He was made captain in 2021, and very nearly took his side to the playoffs. He scored 2,391 runs for the Royals in 93 games. In 2021 his main emphasis was to play long innings and see the team through. He looks like a far more established batter, Samson scored 484 runs in the previous season. He will be back leading the team in 2023 as well, hence retaining him is a no-brainer.

Trent Boult

Trent Boult is one of the most best pacers to have played for New Zealand. His ability to swing the ball both ways has turned him into a serious threat to the opposition. The pacer has featured for SRH and MI in the previous seasons of the IPL. In 2022, his first stint with the Royals turned out to be a special one. Alongside Prasidh Krishna, he formed one of the most lethal new-ball pairs of the season, he was brilliant in the Powerplay throughout the tournament. He ended the season with 16 wickets and also bowled 3 maidens. Rajasthan will definitely look to retain him, as he heads the bowling attack of the side.

Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler is arguably the best T20 batter going around at the moment, he is brilliant in the powerplay and can also play the long innings when required. Buttler was the highest run scorer of the last season and play a crucial role in the success of Rajasthan Royals. Picked by the Royals during the 2018 auction, Jos has been setting the pace and the benchmark in the IPL with his fiery performances. His best performance came earlier this year, when he struck four incredible hundreds and finished with 863 runs and won the orange cap. Jos has built a reputation for dismantling the strongest of bowling attacks with ease, and also played a crucial role for England during their 2022 World Cup-winning run. Jos Buttler will surely be retained by RR ahead of the mini-auctions.
