The 2022 T20 World Cup has generated some unforgettable moments for sports fans to remember.
Ireland, Zimbabwe, the Netherlands, and Scotland punched above their weight to beat large nations that had previously won the prized trophy. With the IPL auction taking place only a month after the T20 World Cup on 23rd December, teams must reflect on the outstanding achievements of players in the recent showcase event in Australia. Let’s take a look at the three players who might be on various IPL teams’ radars for the upcoming IPL 2023 auction.

Rilee Rossouw

Rossouw made an outstanding return to South Africa’s national colours after being out of the side for six years due to Kolpak. Some magnificent knocks throughout the tournament’s build-up helped the left-handed batsman secure his spot at No. 3 in South Africa’s batting order. Rossouw’s selection was vindicated with a magnificent century against Bangladesh in Sydney. He struck the fastest T20 World Cup century by a South African batter, and the 33-year-old is the only player from his country to do so in the tournament’s history. Rossouw’s century against India in the third T20I in Indore will make him a contender for a top-order berth in the mini-auction.

Sikandar Raza

Raza’s good play in 2022 was the driving force behind Zimbabwe qualifying for the Super 12 stage ahead of two-time winners West Indies. The 36-year-old scored 219 runs at a strike rate of 147.97 in the qualifications and group stage. After Blessing Muzarabani’s 12 wickets, Raza had the second most wickets for Zimbabwe, with 10 at 15.60. Raza may fill in nicely in the middle order and add a diversity of finger spin options.

Joshua Little

He picked up 11 wickets at an average of 17.18 and an economy rate of seven. The left-arm speedster dismissed England openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales during Ireland’s five-run DLS victory over their UK counterparts in Melbourne. Little’s tournament highlight came during Ireland’s final group-stage encounter versus New Zealand. After Curtis Campher, he became the second bowler from his country to claim a T20 World Cup hat-trick.
