Finally, the wait is over, we are all set for the IPL 2023 to start in just about a day’s time. Gujarat Titans will lock horns against Chennai Super Kings in the first match of this season at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. CSK has a season to forget last year, finishing second last on the points table. MS Dhoni will lead the yellow army once again and this time at Chennai’s den, at the Chepauk. The four-time champions won titles in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021 and will look to make it their 5th this year. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans will be led by Hardik Pandya once again.
The titans managed to win the IPL title in the first season they took part in, which is a commendable effort, the were one of the strongest teams in the tournament. Kane Williamson, KS Bharat, Mohit Sharma, Odean Smith, Shivam Mavi were bagged by the Gujarat Titans in the auction last year. David Miller will miss the initial few matches due to international commitments. Both teams look solid on paper. It will be interesting to see how the impact players rule is used by teams.
