The BCCI has given the Ahmedabad and Lucknow franchises till January 22 to finalize the names that they would want to keep ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. While there are plenty of reports about Hardik Pandya securing a captaincy deal with Ahmedabad, a TOI report has stated that KL Rahul might be the captain of the Lucknow franchise. Rahul, who had left the Punjab Kings franchise after a couple of years, was apparently the first choice for the new Lucknow Franchise. On the other hand, there are two other players who might join the new team for IPL 2022.

The same TOI report stated that Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi might be picked in the Lucknow team. Stoinis played a key role in Australia’s ICC World T20 2021 triumph. The Australian all-rounder has shown his mettle in the IPL. In 2020 for Delhi Capitals, his all-round skills helped the side reach the final. Ravi Bishnoi, on the other hand, was the star in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup. The legspinner impressed for Punjab Kings in two editions of the IPL.

Lot of star players in Ahmedabad, Lucknow franchise in IPL 2022?

A lot of star players could be at the disposal of Lucknow and Ahmedabad for IPL 2022. Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan are being linked to the Ahmedabad franchise. Both of them were let go by the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad team. The likes of David Warner and Eoin Morgan have also not been retained by the respective franchises. This indicates that both of them could be the star attractions.
