Rajasthan Royals (RR) all-rounders Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia celebrated in an innovative manner after the former pulled off a fine catch in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Parag accounted for the dismissals of Rahul Tripathi and Pat Cummins, with steady catches off Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris. Tripathi could not negotiate a slower delivery from Mustafizur, slogging the ball high towards deep square leg. Parag settled under the skier calmly, pulling off an excellent catch. Cummins similarly attempted to slog a fine delivery by Morris but couldn’t pick the gap. The Australian all-rounder hit the ball straight to deep mid-wicket, with the Indian cricketer remaining in control of the catch despite being pushed back a step or two by the power of the shot. Cummins’ dismissal was followed by the all-rounders standing in front of the ball, assuming the pose in case of a selfie.

Parag’s Energetic Celebration Fun To Watch

Parag has usually been quite expressive on the field, celebrating victories by the Rajasthan-based franchise by performing the Bihu dance. This is certainly a rare sight nowadays in the world of cricket, with all the major cricketers usually adopting a very formal approach. The likes of Virat Kohli and David Warner were previously quite expressive on the field, with regard to their reactions to different scenarios in a match. However, the same has reduced massively in recent times. Parag’s fresh approach is like a breath of fresh air in the world of cricket, where players are expected to act like the ultimate role-models in every scenario.

The Rajasthan-based franchise has won only one game in the IPL 2021 league stage so far. That triumph was recorded against Delhi Capitals, with Chris Morris and Jaydev Unadkat the heroes of the day. Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Liam Livingstone are the three players who have been ruled out of RR’s IPL 2021 squad, due to different reasons.
