Rajasthan Royals finished at the bottom of the table in IPL 2020 and they will be hoping for an improved show in 2021.
Even before IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals were in the news for 16 crore reasons. The amount that was spent in acquiring South Africa’s Chris Morris and this move is already seen as a part of a major revamp. In between, they have made former Sri Lanka keeper and legend Kumar Sangakkara as the director of cricket operations for the franchise while Sanju Samson will lead the team for IPL 2021. Samson was one of the few stars in IPL 2020 in Rajasthan Royals’ underwhelming campaign in which they finished at the bottom of the table. There were some magnificent moments for Rajasthan Royals, especially provided by Rahul Tewatia but that was not enough for them to make a mark.
It was Tewatia who gave Rajasthan Royals plenty to smile along with the exploits of Ben Stokes. The bowling, which has been buoyed by Jofra Archer, has received a boost with the arrival of Morris. Along with Samson, Rajasthan Royals might be hoping that the youngsters might make a mark in IPL 2021.
