Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) CEO Venky Mysore has hailed Australian pacer Pat Cummins for his decision to donate USD 50,000 to the PM Cares Fund, specifically to purchase oxygen supplies for the hospitals in India. Cummins is currently in India for the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 27-year-old is representing KKR. His gesture has certainly underlined the pledge that: We are in it together.

Mysore has termed Pat’s sentiments as being similar to that of the team management. He further termed it as a privilege to be in a position, where the team could do what they really enjoyed doing.

“As I have already put out it was a class act from Pat. The sentiments of the KKR management are pretty similar to what Pat has articulated. I think we are privileged to be in a position where we are able to do what we really enjoy doing,” said the KKR CEO in an interaction with kkr.in.

Bio-Secure Bubble Quite Safe

Mysore further reassured the masses and the players over the safety protocols of the bio-secure bubble. Several Australian players have opted to leave the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 midway, considering the number of cases rising in India every day.

“The protocol and the safety features that have been built into the bio-secure bubble are unprecedented and I think it couldn’t have been any better. Everyone is being properly taken care of,” he said.

“But there is a world outside which is struggling in the pandemic and India is going through a tougher challenge right now. From the entire KKR family, all I want to say is, you know what you need to do. Please be safe. We will hope that during our games through the end of May, we will be in a position to at least entertain you a bit so that there can be a smile on your faces,” added Mysore.

KKR’s wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert also had words of praise for Pat, terming it as a “fantastic gesture”.

“It was a fantastic gesture from Pat. A message from the entire KKR family to everyone out there – just want to say stay safe, be smart, sanitise your hands and wear masks. Our prayers to help everyone out there, in India and around the world,” he said.
