As the Asia Cup 2022 is all set to begin, all teams will try to give their best and win the title too. Meanwhile, India will try to win a record-extending eighth title and they are going to open their account against their arch-rivals Pakistan as well.

However, before the clash takes place, here are the top players to watch out for.

Hardik Pandya

Ever since Hardik Pandya has returned to full fitness, he has been playing a key role for India. After leading Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title win in IPL 2022 with his all-round brilliance as a player and also as a captain, Pandya has certainly sealed his place in the Indian team with three stunning knocks against South Africa in the home T20Is in June. He followed it up by leading India to a 2-0 series win in Ireland before doing well in the first T20I against England, smashing 51 of 33 and claiming four for 33 as well. His sublime form will be a great help for India in the Asia Cup 2022.

Babar Azam

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has the ability to turn the table single-handedly. Considering his current form, the 27-year-old Pakistan skipper is arguably one of the best batters in recent times as well. The elegant and stylish opener is currently leading the ICC T20I batters’ ranking chart also. He has been among runs consistently in the past few years that too in all three formats. Moreover, his stunning sow with the bat helped his side win several times. And, his performance will play a very crucial to Pakistan’s campaign in the Asia Cup 2022 as well.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

In the absence of pace bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, who is now injured and Mohammed Shami, who is not in the squad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will play a crucial role for India in the Asia Cup 2022. He will have the responsibility of leading a relatively inexperienced Indian pace bowling unit in the Asia Cup 2022. However, he has been in good form and in the second T20I against South Africa in June, picking four for 13 with his in-swinging deliveries. He has picked 15 wickets in 13 T20Is after IPL 2022 and doing wonders again with the ball in the PowerPlay. He has picked 12 wickets in the first six overs in 2022 at 5.48. In the recently concluded T20I series in West Indies, he picked up just three wickets in four matches but was quite economical, conceding just over seven runs an over as well.
