India will tour England for the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham, starting from July 1. India currently lead the series 2-1. India’s tour of England was originally slated from August 4 to September 14, 2021 but due to Covid-19 situation the final Test had to be rescheduled. The visitors clinched victories in the second and the fourth Test while England reigned superior in the third match.
The Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) named an 17-member Test squad for the rescheduled final match against England. Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara has been called back to the Test squad after his prolific run for Surrey in county cricket while senior pros Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah will return to the side after being rested for the T20 series against South Africa which gets underway from June 9.

India and England have shared a long-time rivalry. Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar leads the list of most runs scorer in the Test history between the sides with more that 2500 runs with a staggering average of 51.73. India batting great Sunil Gavaskar is second on the list while former England captain and top-order batter Alastair Cook takes the third spot.
