Zimbabwe lost their way in the chase and were bundled out for just 115 in the 18th over and India won the match by 71 runs
India won the toss and decided to bat first, out walked Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul to start off the innings. Zimbabwe started off in fine fashion getting rid of skipper Rohit Sharma early on. Virat Kohli rebuild alongside KL Rahul who went on to score a beautiful half-century. Rahul was chipping away with runs and also punished all the bad deliveries.
Virat, KL Rahul, and Rishab Pant were dismissed in a matter of few overs, and India looked in a spot of bother. Rishabh Pant was back in the XI for this match but he could make use of the opportunity as his aggressive approach led to his downfall. Around the 15th over India had a score of over 100 and were 4 down with two new batters in Hardik and SKY in the middle.
SKY showed his class once again and resued India, he hammered the bowling all around the park and Zimbabwe has little to no answers against this onslaught. Suryakumar was unbeaten on 61 on 25, which included 6 fours and 4 sixes. India scored a flurry of runs in the last ten and had momentum going into the break.
Chasing the huge total, Zimbabwe lost their way when the Indian new ball bowlers swung the ball both ways and dismantled the opposition by picking wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, Zimbabwe were 36/5 after 7.3 overs. But Ryan Burl, alongside Sikandar Raza, added 60 runs for the 6th wicket but once Burl got out, Zimbabwe lost their way again and were bundled out for just 115 in the 18th over. India won the match by 71 runs and the focus now shifts to the Semi-Finals.
