West Indies recovered from their loss against Australia in grand style as they thrashed Scotland by seven wickets in St Kitts. In the other game, Pakistan managed to get the better of Zimbabwe by 115 runs in Diego Martin. With Sri Lanka beating Australia, Group D has been thrown wide open with the West Indies slated to play Sri Lanka in their last league game. Australia, on the other hand, will play Scotland. The situation in Group D might boil down to Net Run Rate.

West Indies dominated right from the onset against Scotland. Shiva Sankar took three wickets and totally crushed Scotland’s morale. Oliver Davidson was in fine form as he found the boundary and looked to push Scotland along. But, Jack Jarvis fell but Davidson shared a good stand with Muhaymen Majeed. Majeed hit a six to show his intentions but Anderson Mahase took his second wicket.

Davidson hit two boundaries but Scotland collapsed in a heap. Onaje Amory picked up two wickets while Matthew Nandu, the offspinner took the Sean Fischer Keogh but Davidson was runout for 43. In response, West Indies started brilliantly with Shaqkere Parris and Nandu racing to 37 in seven overs. But, Nandu and Parris fell in quick succession. Rivaldo Clarke smashed a couple of boundaries but he too fell cheaply. Teddy Bishop and Jordan Johnson then guided West Indies over the line, with Bishop finishing the match with a four and a six.

Pakistan dominate against Zimbabwe thanks to Haseebullah Khan

Haseebullah Khan’s blistering 135 off 150 balls and Awais Ali’s 6/56 has given Pakistan a dominating 115-run against Zimbabwe in Diego Martin. Haseebullah’s partnership of 189 with Irfan Khan broke Zimbabwe’s morale. Although Alex Falao took five wickets at the end, Pakistan managed to cross 300.

Irfan and Haseebullah stitched a great stand, with the Pakistan keeper going past 50. Haseebullah then raced past the 70s and 80s while Irfan Khan went past fifty. Haseebullah reached his century and Irfan was also nearing his ton.

Qasim Akram and Haseebullah then smashed boundaries at will. However, they fell in quick succession but Zeeshan Zameer hit three sixes to help Pakistan end on 315/9. In response, Zimbabwe started brightly with Steven Saul and Matthew Welch scoring at a brisk rate. However, Zameer and Ahmed Khan removed the openers and Awais Ali then stepped up. Awais picked up three wickets while Ahmed Khan also chipped in. Brian Bennett waged a gritty battle and went past fifty. Tendakai Mataranyika frustrated Pakistan and hit boundaries at will as Zimbabwe fought hard. But, when Awais Ali sent back Bennett and Mataranyika in quick succession, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 200.
