India gets off to a poor start

After winning the toss, England decided to field first. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, steadied the ship after India lost KL Rahul (5 off 5) early on. Virat checked all the right boxes as the pair scored 47 runs for the second wicket. Chris Jordan ended the alliance by dismissing the Indian captain (27 off 28). Although Suryakumar Yadav (14 off 10) played a few beautiful shots, his stay only lasted 10 balls.

Kohli and Pandya take India to a formidable total

With a 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket, Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli launched an attack on England. After scoring his 37th fifty in a T20I, Virat (50 off 40) was dismissed, while Hardik carried on to the very end. Hardik hit four fours and five sixes in his 33-ball 63 to help India reach 168/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
