Guernsey will host Jersey in the first of three-match T20I series starting at the College Field, St Peter Port on Friday. The second and third match, incidentally, will take place on the same day — May 21, Saturday — at the King George V Sports Ground, Castel. The history of the Inter-Insular Series played between Guernsey and Jersey tracks back to 1950. Both the teams have been playing the annually contested tournament since then which fall under 50-over format generally.
However, in 2018, the Inter-Insular Series acquired the T20I status and the 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup had official T20I status for the first time. The governing body for cricket — International Cricket Council (ICC) — had given T20I status to all matches played between Associate Members after 1 January 2019. Jersey will be the defending champions heading into the tournament as they won the title in 2019 and the subsequent series’ had to be called off in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 outbreak.

Guernsey and Jersey will face off in a three-match T20I series in a span of two days. The matches between the associate nations will telecast on Sony liv, Sony Six, TEN 3 and Sony Ten 4 will provide the livestreaming of the cricket matches in India and its subcontinent (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka). Guernsey and Jersey will face off in a three-match T20I series in a span of two days. Both the teams have faced-off 40 times and have come out even. Guernsey has won 19 matches while Jersey has clinched victories in as many contests with one match ending in a tie and a match ending in no result.
