India and England will lock horns in the third game and the final T20I series on Sunday, July 10 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham as well.
Team India registered another comfortable win over England in the 2nd T20I at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 9, Saturday. Under Rohit Sharma, they have defeated the Three Lions by 49 runs. With this, they clinched the three-match T20I series with one game in hand. Notably, it was the same venue where they failed to win the rescheduled fifth Test recently. However, both India and England will lock horns in the third and the final T20I series on Sunday, July 10 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham as well. Following this series, both teams will take on each other in a three-match ODI series, starting July 12 at Kennington Oval in London.
As far as the second game is concerned, Team India put up 170 after being put in to bat first. Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant’s 49-run partnership for the opening wicket laid the foundation for the visitors. Later, Ravindra Jadeja, who replaced Axar Patel, also played a quick cameo. While defending the score, pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar once again set the stage by removing both the openers – Jason Roy and Jos Buttler within the powerplay. Moeen Ali and David Willey scored in the 30s but that wasn’t enough as they were bowled out for 121. Meanwhile, Richard Gleeson was quite impressive on his debut after he removed Rohit, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli in the space of eight balls as well.
