World Test Champions New Zealand will take on County Select Xi in the second warm-up match at the County Ground, Chelmsford, starting from May 26. The warm-up matches are a part of New Zealand tour of England 2022 which begins with the first of three-match Test series, starting from June 2. In absence of regular captain Kane Williamson, it was Tom Latham who led the side in the first warm-up match against Sussex which ended in a draw.
Latham and his opening partner Will Young alongside top-order batters Michael Bracewell and Tom Blundell notched up half-century knocks in the first innings of the warm-up match against Sussex while Matt Henry, Jacob Duffy. Colin de Grandhomme and Ajaz Patel scalped two wickets each for the Kiwis. The performances will boost the confidence of the Kiwi batters ahead of the important series against England which is a part of the World Test Championships.

The four-day practice match between County Xi and New Zealand will be played at the County Ground, Chelmsford from May 26 to 29. However, as it is a practice game, no television channel will telecast it. But the highlights of the match and live scores can be followed on the official websites of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Black Caps Cricket.
County Xi: The English county side is still to name their squad for the practice game with no development reported around it yet.
