Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) will witness women’s cricket inclusion in the event which is scheduled to begin at the Edgbaston Stadium on July 29. On the other hand, the bronze and gold medal matches will take place on August 7 as well. However, India will play against Australia in the inaugural contest at Edgbaston in Birmingham with Pakistan taking on Barbados later at the same venue as well. Barbados are the team from the West Indies that will take part in the Commonwealth Games as well.
Notably, Australian women are the current world champion where they have won the T20 World Cup in the last season and the ODI World Cup in 2022. They have a fairly strong side that can trouble any team in world cricket as well. On the other hand, Team India were the runners-up in the 2020 T20 World Cup and since then, they did quite well in the shortest format. Recently, they beat Sri Lanka on their home soil and sealed the series too as well. And, they will try to keep their momentum on in the upcoming mega event a swell.
