The 19th match of the Big Bash League 2022-23 will see Sydney Thunder locking horns with Brisbane Heat at the Carrara Oval in Queensland. Currently, both teams are languishing at the bottom half of the table. Brisbane Heat are at the bottom of the table with one win from four matches and have two points in their bag, while Sydney Thunder are placed in the 6th position on the table, with just two wins from five matches. Usman Qadir, the Pakistan leg spin bowler was brought in to fill in for the injured Tanveer Sangha and impressed in the last game with his mystery spin.

On the other hand, the Brisbane Heat haven’t been able to recover from a poor start to the tournament after Melbourne Renegades handed them defeats in their first two matches. They returned to the winning track in the third game, where they held their nerve to get over the line against the Adelaide Strikers by six runs. Both teams are facing each other for the 2nd time in the tournament, Heat lost the previous encounter against the Thunder on Tuesday, 27th of December.

Both teams didn’t have the best starts to the tournament but the Sydney Thunder will hold the upper hand in today’s contest, they have a well-rounded unit and their XI looks settled. Both teams faced each other on the 27th of December, Tuesday where Sydney Thunder thrashed Brisbane Heat and won the match by 10 wickets. The Thunder look like the team who will clinch victory in today’s encounter as well.
