Hosts Australia will lock horns with West Indies in Adelaide’s final Test of the ongoing two-match series. This is a must-win game for the visitors, as a loss or draw will hand them a series defeat. Australia was simply outstanding with both the bat and ball, in the first Test in Perth. The dynamic duo of Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith scored double centuries. On the bowling front, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon shared wickets between them in the first innings, Lyon rattled the visitors with a six-wicket haul in the second innings and Head chipped in with a couple of wickets. Cummins has been ruled out with an injury and will most likely be replaced by Scott Boland. Steve Smith will lead Australia in Cummins’ absence.
On the contrary, West Indies seemed clueless in most parts of the first Test despite showing some fight with the bat. Skipper Kraigg Brathwaite was their lone warrior, while debutant Tagenarine Chanderpaul showed glimpses of brilliance. West Indies would want their senior players like Shamarh Brooks, Jason Holder, Joshua Da Silva, and Jermaine Blackwood to contribute with the bat. However, it’s their bowling who were below-par in the last match.
