Australia will play England in the second One-Day International on Saturday (November 19). The hosts won the first one-day international by six wickets and currently lead the three-match series 1-0. Australia will win the series if they win the second One-Day International. In the second ODI, England will attempt to make a comeback and keep the series alive. Except for Dawid Malan (134), none of England’s batsmen were able to perform. Jason Roy and captain Jos Buttler must shoulder more responsibility in the batting department. As the Australian openers accumulated 147 runs in a 288-run chase, their bowling looked feeble. Australia, on the other hand, would be buoyed by a convincing victory.
Australia dominated the first one-day international, with their bowling and batting working in harmony. David Warner’s performance was the most encouraging for Australia. After battling for form in the T20 World Cup, the southpaw anchored a difficult 288-run chase with a fighting 86. Travis Head and Steven Smith played important roles in his accomplishment. Bowlers did well as well, taking regular wickets. Skipper Cummins had a solid start to his ODI captaincy debut and wants his team to do the same in the second ODI.
