The IPL auction for the 16th edition of the game is slated to take place on December 23 in Kochi, Kerala, thus the T20 craze is about to return to Indian soil. A total of 87 players were released by different franchises before the major event because the majority of them were looking to remodel their squads for the following edition. The IPL, which is regarded as the most prestigious T20 tournament, has historically produced a number of elite cricket players. Given that opportunities have met talent thus far in the competition’s history, it has truly lived up to its slogan. The auction will have 405 players. Out of which, the ten franchises may occupy up to 87 of the available slots. Because of this, there is a lot of tension in the air as all the teams try to come up with the best possible lineup for the upcoming season.

When will the auction start?

IPL 2023 mini-auction will be taking place on December 23 in Kochi. The bidding war is scheduled to get underway at 2:30 PM IST.

Where can I watch it?

Star Sports Network is the official TV broadcaster of IPL 2023 in India and hence, will provide the live telecast of the bidding event. Viacom18-Reliance bagged the digital rights to stream the tournament and thus, fans can switch to Jio Cinema to catch it live.
