After a well-deserved break, India and Australia will return to cricket action with a five-match T20I series. Australia will go to India for the series, which will begin on December 9, 2022, and conclude on December 20, 2022. Australia will visit India for the first time since 2018. The two teams last met in the Commonwealth Games 2022 finals, where Australia won and took the gold medal, with India taking the silver. The two teams met twice in the tournament, once in the tournament opener and once in the tournament decider, with Australia winning both games.
Every game between India and Australia, regardless of the format, has been tremendously exciting since both sides compete fiercely every time they play. The two teams last met in a T20I series in 2021, when hosts Australia won the series 2-0. Both teams will benefit greatly from the next series as they prepare for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023 scheduled to be held in South Africa next year. Interestingly in the last T20 WC held in Australia, India were defeated by the hosts in the final.
