Team India will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is between the 18th and 30th of November 2022, on their tour of New Zealand. The T20I side will be led by Hardik Pandya and the ODI team will be captained by Shikhar Dhawan. Some of the senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been rested for this series. Rishabh Pant has been named as the vice-captain for both T20I and ODI series. Kuldeep Sen and Umran Malik have also been given opportunities to showcase their talents.

However, the selectors have ignored Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna and Venkatesh Iyer who were previously part of the Indian squads. Rishabh Pant was tried as an opener before the T20 World Cup, but the left-hander did not show much promise, which gives an opportunity to the likes of Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson to shine at the top. India will be looking to bounce back after the nightmare in the Semi-Finals against England.
