Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen have completed the deal for the talented teenager Adam Hlozek from Sparta Prague on Thursday. The promising young Czech Republic striker could end up forming an exciting yet deadly partnership with fellow countryman Patrik Schick in the upcoming season. Schick has been in excellent form for the German outfit in the recently concluded campaign, helping them finish third behind champions Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga. Schick along with Hlozek, who could play as a No.10 or in the wings, will be a joy to watch for their club and country fans.

The 19-year-old striker joins the Werkself from Sparta Prague on a five-year deal to 30 June 2027, according to a club statement from Leverkusen website. “Adam Hlozek is a player who plays as a number ten and he also poses a big goal threat coming in from the wing,” said Bayer 04 sporting director Simon Rolfes. “His versatility, power and, above all, his finishing will provide more options in our attacking game.”

Who is Adam Hlozek?

At the age of 12, Hlozek and his older brother Daniel transferred from their hometown club Ivanice to Sparta Prague. It did not take long for Hlozek to make an impact with his new team and in October 2018, he made his first-team debut as a substitute in a Czech Cup match against Slavoj Polna. He also scored the last goal in a 4-1 away win. In total, he spent four years with the Sparta Prague senior side, scoring 40 goals in 132 games across all competitions.

The 6ft 2in striker was involved in 23 goals (9 goals and 14 assists) in 33 league matches last season – an impressive tally when taking his age into account. “It’s great for me to have been signed by one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga,” said Hlozek “I’ve regularly watched Bayer 04 Leverkusen over the past few weeks. The team plays wonderful football. Being part of this team fills me with great hope and expectations.”
