The Women World Boxing Championship 2023 will be held in Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in New Delhi from March 15–26. The semiannual international competition will have 12 weight categories and more than 350 competitors from more than 70 countries. Nikhat Zareen, the world champion from India, will be the center of attention throughout the international competition. She will compete in the 50 kg weight division.

The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has named Mahindra as the title sponsor of this competition, whereas MC Mary Kom and Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar have been named as brand ambassadors. This is the third time that India will host. BFI’s goal is to promote female boxing by involving famous names like Mary Kom and Farhan.

Seven countries have decided to boycott and not to participate in the upcoming event after the IBA, headed by Umar Kremlev, allowed Russian and Belarusian boxer to compete under one national flag. The countries boycotting the New Delhi event are Ukraine, US, UK, Canada, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Norway.

The Women World Boxing Championship 2023 will also not be considered as qualification for the Paris Olympics 2024, which was also declared by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Whereas IBA has declared it as the main qualification event. There was a conflict point between IOC and IBA. The IOC suspended IBA in 2019 due to financial and governance issues. As a result, IBA was not involved in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic. The IOC has also announced that it will separately host qualifying events for the 2024 Summer Games.
