Woodville Warriors vs South Adelaide Panthers NBL1 Australia Playoffs will be held on September 3, i.e on Saturday. Despite their valiant efforts, the Joondalup Wolves and Warwick Senators were unable to advance to the NBL1 West men’s championship game. In the preliminary finals on Saturday night, the Senators were defeated by the Rockingham Flames, while the Wolves were defeated by the Geraldton Buccaneers. Warwick scored a 23-14 third quarter to tie the game at 23 at the last break after trailing by nine points at halftime, but the Flames produced a strong final frame to win 85-74. The Senators were ahead 71-68 with seven and a half minutes remaining, but they were unable to extend their lead over the following five minutes as the Flames were able to take the lead and create some breathing room.
The only Senators to score more than 10 points against a solid Flames defense were Bryan Michaels (18 points), who had 18, and George Pearl (20 points), who led Warwick with 20 points. Meanwhile, the Wolves were unable to stave off Geraldton’s firepower despite putting up a valiant effort after being overwhelmed by the Buccaneers’ 35-18 first-quarter assault. Joondalup’s bench could only muster 15 points, and despite CJ Turnage’s 23 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals, as well as Jonathan Wade’s 20 points, the Wolves were unable to come up with a defensive stop. Ultimately, Geraldton romped to victory, winning handily 107-81.
