A major disaster was averted after a plane carrying Utah Jazz team was forced into emergency landing following a bird strike. It damaged the front of the plane and its left engine, leaving blood stains across the nose of the plane. The incident occurred just minutes after the plane carrying the NBA team took off. Even though the players were “shaken” by the incident, none were injured.

The team was travelling from Salt Lake City to Memphis for their forthcoming match with the Grizzlies when the incident happened, damaging the left engine. As a result, the decision was made to turn back for Salt Lake City airport. On the Utah Jazz website, a statement read that pilots were able to land the plane without incident despite engine failure.

A team statement read, “Players were clearly shaken by the incident and quickly took to social media upon landing. But no one on the plane was harmed.” Later, the team eventually boarded a different plane and departed for Memphis.
