The South East Melbourne will go against Tasmania JackJumpers in the NBL Australia match on October 1 at Melbourne. The JackJumpers’ NBL season will go off without many important players, but there is confidence in the camp that the guys will step up. Sam McDaniel, Josh Magette, and captain Clint Steindl won’t be traveling with Tasmania for their match against South East Melbourne Phoenix on Saturday. Fabijan Krslovic, a forward for the JackJumpers, predicted that every team will experience injury issues at some point throughout the course of the season. We have a few players out right now, but Krslovic mentioned that there would be more chances for players to come up. “We have complete faith in each and every member of our team to do the job.”
After recovering from a shoulder injury, Jack McVeigh participated in the NBL blitz for 20 minutes. McVeigh’s preseason comeback stunned coach Scott Roth, who thought he was two to three weeks behind schedule. He said that whereas Magnay was making significant progress and McDaniel was still a few weeks away, Steindl was on pace or perhaps even a bit early in his recuperation. However, Roth noted that it would be challenging to reintegrate those players due to scheduling conflicts and limited practice time. The JackJumpers’ NBL schedule included rapid turnarounds and a trip to New Zealand in round three. To begin their preseason practices, the JackJumpers faced the Phoenix at Ulverstone and Launceston and won by a slim margin both times. It would be an intriguing matchup, according to Krslovic. Once round one begins, it’s a different animal, I think they were lacking certain parts early on, Krslovic remarked.
