Following an intriguing third day of competition, the FIBA U18 European Championship Round of 16 pairings has been decided. Four teams remain unbeaten as the competition now moves into a rest day before the knockout stages thanks to improvements by France, Lithuania, Serbia, and Spain, who all improved to 3-0 records. Lithuania maintained their strong start to the competition by defeating Croatia decisively 83-54 to win Group D. In the second half, they outscored their opponents 41-20. Paulius Murauskas finished second on the squad with 16 points, and Motiejus Krivas recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
In the meantime, France won their match against Israel 82-66 to maintain their perfect record and keep making their mark on the game. The Group A winners were led to victory by Zacharie Perrin, who contributed 20 points and 8 rebounds. Spain comfortably defeated Poland 70-49 to win Group B, while Serbia defeated the Czech Republic 82-65 to win Group C. Both teams had five players score in double figures. The odds of winning the title increased for both teams. Further joy for the hosts came as Turkey overturned a deficit to overcome Germany 68-64, winning second place in front of a packed arena. Kerem Konan led his side with 21 points and 9 rebounds, and the defense improved to limit Germany to just 5 points in the final frame to complete the comeback.
