The Seattle Storm will head to the Target Center for a WNBA matchup against the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, August 13th. This is going to be a crucial game for Lynx as they are tied on record with four other teams. A setback at this point will be a roadblock for them in the pursuit of making the playoffs.

The team is high on confidence after their most recent win against the Phoenix Mercury. Kayla McBride led the way as she scored 18 points on the night. Jessica Shepard also stepped up, scoring 15 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in 33 minutes. Sylvia Fowles also had an impactful night as she scored 16 points and bagged 9 boards to help the Lynx get to an 86-77 win. This was their second straight victory and has given them a chance to advance into the playoffs. They have a stellar roster, but defeating an experienced Storm team is not going to be that easy for Lynx.

The team from Seattle are coming into the matchup on the back of a brilliant win against the defending champions, Chicago Sky. Breanna Stewart scored 25 points and also grabbed 9 rebounds on the night. Gabby Williams also made her presence felt as she scored 21 points and made 7 assists in 31 minutes. Jewell Loyd and Tina Charles contributed by scoring 18 and 10 points respectively. Although the Sky have a stunning defensive unit, they weren’t able to stop the Storm. On their way to bagging the win, the team set a WNBA record of making the most assists in the game. They will be looking to carry all of that momentum into their encounter against the Lynx and end their campaign on a high note.

Injury Report

The Seattle Storm will head to the court without Mercedes Russell as she is ruled out for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, the Lynx will miss Damiris Dantas as she is also ruled out of the season due to a head injury.
