On Tuesday, the San Antonio Spurs will travel to the Chase Center for an NBA regular season face-off against the Golden State Warriors. The Spurs are coming into the encounter on the back of a stellar win against the Milwaukee Bucks. Meanwhile, the Warriors faced a disappointing loss against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
Led by Keldon Johnson’s 29-point effort, the Spurs looked motivated from the very start. They scored 31 in the first quarter and 23 in the second to take an eight-point lead going into the second half. Devin Vassell also had a good game, chipping in with 22 points on52.9% shooting. The win against the Bucks, helped the Spurs get to a 6-7 record. They will be looking to bag a win on Tuesday as that will help them get to a .500 record.
However, things are not going to be extremely easy for the Spurs as their opponents are a Golden State Warriors team, who are capable of wreaking havoc on sides on their day. Although they faced a loss against the Sacramento Kings, Klay Thompson’s performance was a bit of a relief. The four-time champ has had a tough time shooting the ball from three-point range this season. He went 5-13 from beyond the arc against the Kings and made it clear that he would be back strong soon in an Instagram post. The bench from the Warriors once again failed to show up. Only Jordan Poole performed among players coming off the bench. Poole scored 18 of the 31 bench points. The Warriors will be hoping for improvements as that could prove to be vital for them against the Spurs.
