In international basketball competitions, Israel is represented by the men’s national basketball team. The Israeli Basketball Association oversees their administration. In the FIBA World Rankings, Israel is presently placed 42nd. In its history, Israel has qualified for the EuroBasket 29 times. Additionally, they have made one appearance in the Summer Olympics and two at the World Cup. From 1966 through 1974, Israel took part in the Asian Games as well. Israeli athletes have had the most success on the international level to date by placing second at EuroBasket 1979 and taking home two gold and one silver medals from the Asian Games (1966, 1974).

The Georgian Basketball Federation is in charge of the men’s national basketball team, which competes on an international level for Georgia. After achieving independence from the Soviet Union in 1992, Georgia joined FIBA. In 1995, against Poland, the national team played their inaugural game. Georgia has achieved success on the world stage by securing their spot in the European Basketball Championship four times. Their greatest performance came during their first tournament appearance in 2011. Georgia has qualified for the top European competition, but they have not yet done so for the FIBA World Cup, which is the top international competition.
