The Round of 16 pairings at the FIBA U18 European Championship has been determined following an interesting third day of play. France, Lithuania, Serbia, and Spain all improved to 3-0 records, keeping four teams undefeated as the action now enters a rest day before the knockout phases. With a decisive 83-54 victory over Croatia, Lithuania maintained their impressive start to the competition and took first place in Group D. They outscored their opponents 41-20 in the second half. Motiejus Krivas contributed a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Paulius Murauskas finished second on the team with 16 points.
In the meantime, France prevailed against Israel in their matchup to remain unblemished as they continued to leave their imprint on the competition with an 82-66 victory. Zacharie Perrin was the key player for the Group A victors, leading them to victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five players scored in double digits as Spain easily defeated Poland 70–49 to finish first in Group B while Serbia defeated the Czech Republic 82–65 to finish first in Group C. Both teams improved their chances of winning the championship. In front of a crowded stadium, there was further happiness for the hosts when Turkey overcame a deficit to defeat Germany 68–64, securing second place. Kerem Konan scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds as his team’s defense stepped up to hold Germany to just 5 points in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback.
