Bulgaria has also qualified for the FIBA World Cup, where they made one appearance in 1959 and finished eighth. The national team competed at the Olympics on many occasions, with their best performance coming in 1956. Additionally, Bulgaria has participated in lesser competitions like the Balkan Championship, where it has won gold medals in 1959, 1960, and 1971.
