The Connecticut Sun will head to the Crypto.com Arena for a WNBA encounter against the LA Sparks on Thursday, August 11th. Both these teams faced off last on Tuesday, where the Sun were able to bag a dominant 97-71 win.

Jonquel Jones led the way with a stellar 21-point performance. The center also grabbed 10 rebounds in her 26 minutes on court. Brionna Jones added 14 points, while Natisha Hiedeman scored 13 points for the Sun on the night. Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner also made their presence felt as the duo added 11 and 10 points respectively. The Suns were off to a flying start and never looked back from thereon. They scored 53 points in the first half as compared to the 32 scored by the Sparks. This win helped them maintain their solid grip on third place in the WNBA standings. With two more games left, they will be hoping to finish strong as it will help boost their morale for the challenging playoffs coming ahead.

As far as the Sparks are concerned, Brittney Sykes, Nneka Ogwumike and Jordin Canada were the only three players that showed up for them against the Sun. The trio combined to score 49 points, but that was not enough to prevent a loss for them. With this setback, the team from LA have slipped to eleventh place in the standings. They have lost seven of their last ten games and are pretty much out of playoff contention. A lot has been going on for them this season. They will be hoping to keep all of that behind them and end their season on a positive note.
