China vs Belgium will take place in the FIBA World Cup on September 27 at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Center. The FIBA Women’s World Cup has been progressing quickly, and we are now just a few days away from the quarterfinal round. We have seen some clear results in this tournament, but we have also witnessed Canada’s emergence as a squad that has raised the bar in their group. Australia will play the Canadian squad in this match. Bridget Carleton scored 17 points as Canada defeated Japan 70:56 in another exhibition performance. On the other side, Australia dominated Serbia in a tough match, winning 69:54 because of the 16 points from sniper Bec Allen. Australia is also nearly there after winning two of its last three games, while Canada has already advanced to the quarterfinals.

Canada’s defense has been outstanding, and they have stopped several of the Group favorites. While other players, such as Bridget Carleton and Nirra Fields, have upped their scoring, Kayla Alexander’s performance has been particularly inspirational on the rebounding end. The physical partnership of Alexander and Natalie Achonwa has been crucial, while guard Shay Colley has been a reliable scorer. Fields strengthen the bench, Laeticia Amihere inspires the team, and Canada’s game is driven by their superior defense. After losing to France on opening night, the Australians have bounced back. Their better defensive performance and the shift in the lineup, where Tolo has played more minutes than an occasionally erratic Magbebor, are the main causes of this. Despite the fact that the squad is loaded with talented quarterbacks like Tolo, George, and Whitcomb, Bec Allen has been carrying most of the offensive load. The Australians are still renowned for their gritty style, but this matchup with Canada will serve as their true test.
